Ryding into history?

Sport is replete with stories of ability and opportunity lost. I fear that Jesse Ryder is destined for that sorry list of sportspeople with lavish potential, but an absence of personal qualities that allow them to flourish. Alcohol is a terrible master (as recent WHO studies show on the global stage ever more clearly) and it seems to have hold of Mr Ryder, who seems to be incapable of resisting its syren call. He's apologised once again, but one senses that cricketing authorities are nearing the limits of patience. It would be a shame to lose his talents from the game, but it seems that we close to that outcome.

  1. A wasted talent it seems especially when I heard John Wright say at 1pm that he has work to do on his fitness. Then again a love of beer and late nights did not seem to affect Doug Walters or Punter Ponting, to name but a couple, too much.
